Dr. Élison Santos

Psychologist & Researcher

Dr. Élison Santos is a Clinical Psychologist, Researcher, and author whose work is dedicated to bridging the gap between deep clinical insight and evidence-based practice. His career is animated by a central theme: helping individuals navigate existential challenges to live richer, more meaningful lives.

In his clinical practice based in Washington, D.C., Dr. Santos provides psychotherapy to a global clientele of adolescents, adults, and couples, both online and in-person. This frontline work has culminated in a new research focus: developing and scientifically validating meaning-centered interventions for suicide prevention, as outlined in his recent peer-reviewed publications.

As an educator and leader, Dr. Santos translates this knowledge into practice. He is the founder of two continuing education centers: the Chrysalis Center (Washington, D.C.) and IPSapiens (Brazil), which train mental health professionals. Fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, he brings a multicultural perspective to his work and is actively engaged in leadership roles with international professional organizations.
