Elison Santos, PhD

Élison Santos is a Clinical Psychologist who provides psychotherapy to clients from around the world, both online and in person at his clinic in Washington, D.C. He works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families, offering compassionate, evidence-based care. In addition to his clinical work, Élison is an experienced professor and consultant, specializing in human behavior, conflict resolution, mental health, suicide prevention, and psychological development in sports.

Fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, Élison brings a multicultural and inclusive perspective to both his clinical and academic work. He is the author of several published books and is actively engaged with international research and professional organizations. As Director of IPSapiens in Brazil, he coordinates postgraduate programs in clinical psychology, and as Director of the Chrysalis Center in Washington, D.C., he also leads continuing education courses for mental health professionals.

Couples therapy is a form of therapy aimed at improving communication and resolving conflicts between romantic partners. Our approach is based on the Gottman method, which emphasizes building a strong foundation of friendship and shared meaning.

Family Therapy

Family therapy is a type of therapy that helps family members improve communication and resolve conflicts. We work with families to identify patterns of behavior that may be contributing to problems and develop strategies for positive change.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is a form of therapy that involves one or more therapists working with several people at the same time. Group therapy can be beneficial for individuals who are struggling with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, and relationship problems.

Consultation Services

We offer consultation services to individuals, couples, and families who are seeking guidance on a variety of issues, including mental health, relationship problems, and parenting challenges. Our consultation services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

Workshops

We offer workshops on a variety of topics related to mental health and well-being, including stress management, mindfulness, and communication skills. Our workshops are designed to be interactive and engaging, and provide participants with practical tools and strategies for improving their lives.
